Denso International America will lead a $16 million investment in Peloton Technology, a developer of truck platooning systems designed to boost fuel savings for large-truck fleets.

Denso and Intel Capital co-led the investment round, Denso announced late last month.

“Denso believes Peloton’s system has the potential to help increase safety and fuel savings in the transportation industry,” said Tony Cannestra, Denso’s director of corporate ventures.

Kariya, Japan-based Denso Corp. is a global automotive supplier of advanced technology systems and powertrain components.
