Con-way Sets Consolidation and Distribution Service
Con-way Inc. Tuesday announced a new consolidation and distribution service for shippers and consignees.
The service will use the “knowledge, resources and expertise” of three of the company’s operating units — Con-way Truckload, Con-way Freight and Con-way Multimodal — to bring shippers reduced transit times and lower total delivered cost of goods, the company said in a statement.
Con-way said the service can help shippers lower transportation costs, reduce reliance and pressure on existing distribution centers, reduce warehousing tme and create seamless integration between different modes of transportation and provide flexible capability and capacity.
Con-way Inc. is ranked No. 6 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
