The number of comments on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association’s proposed revised hours-of-service regulatioas topped 20,000 — the most for any current rule being considered.

The trucking industry has largely opposed the proposed rewrite of the rule being considered by FMCSA, and American Trucking Associations said trucking’s overwhelming opposition to the changes accounted for the large number of comments.

The comment period to the rule ended March 4.
