Transportation and third-party logistics firm C.H. Robinson Worldwide reported a second-quarter profit of $111 million, or 67 cents a share, up 14.2% from $97.2 million, or 59 cents, a year earlier.

Revenue grew 10.3% to $2.7 billion, the company said late Tuesday. Transportation revenue rose 18.7% to $367.8 million.

Truck revenue, including truckload and less-than-truckload services,ned 20.9% to $314.3 million. Truckload volumes increased 3.5%, while truckload margins increased slightly over the previous year's quarter. LTL revenues grew 28%, driven by a 14% increase in shipments.

Intermodal net revenue grew 15.2% due to increased net revenue margin and price increases.

C.H. Robinson is ranked No. 8 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of North American logistics firms.
