Fleet-management technology provider Cadec Global Inc. said it has hired former Qualcomm Inc. and Xata Corp. executive, Tom Flies, as chief operating officer.

Flies most recently was senior director ofÌýproduct management and business development for Qualcomm, where he worked in the Omnitracs division.

Flies has served on the American Transportation Research Institute Research Advisory Board as well as the National Private Fleet Management Institute Board of Governo

In August, Cadec also hired Pete Allen as CEO, succeeding Jon Bernstein, who is now executive chairman and will remain active in managing the company.
