Amazon Establishes Air Cargo Hub in Kentucky
Online retailer Amazon.com is building a new centralized air cargo hub at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport to support the company鈥檚 growing fleet of cargo planes.
The Prime Air facility in Hebron, Kentucky, will create 2,000 jobs when fully operational, according to Dave Clark, Amazon senior vice president of worldwide operations.

The location is close to a number of Amazon fulfillment centers and 鈥渨ill support Amazon and customers well into the future,鈥 Clark said in a statement Jan. 31.
Last year, Amazon agreed to lease 40 dedicated cargo planes. The company听has 16 planes in service and is operating from a former DHL air cargo hub in Wilmington, Ohio.

UPS Inc. and FedEx听Corp. operate similar air cargo hubs in Louisville, Kentucky; and Memphis, Tennessee, respectively.
