Key transportation priorities have remained sidelined with lawmakers deadlocked in a funding standoff over the Department of 91ÊÓƵland Security.

Airport wait times in Houston and Atlanta have eased after Transportation Security Administration officers received most of their missed pay. 

Airports have warned travelers that they should expect longer lines and to arrive early for their flights, as a partial government shutdown impacting DHS enters its fourth week. 

Access to parking for the nation’s commercial drivers will increase because of recent legislation Congress and President Donald Trump approved Feb. 3.

The partial U.S. government shutdown ended late in the afternoon of Feb. 3 after President Donald Trump signed into law a funding deal he negotiated with Senate Democrats.

A bill that would give a significant funding boost for projects aimed at expanding access to truck parking nationwide appears stuck in the Senate.

Funding for several other agencies, including Defense, Health and Human Services, Labor, Treasury and Education, could become a casualty of the dispute as a Jan. 30 funding deadline nears.

Statistics Canada said it will not publish October trade data as was scheduled on Dec. 4. The agency had previously confirmed September numbers would be postponed.

The Labor Department said it will not release a full jobs report for October because the government shutdown meant it couldn't calculate the unemployment rate and some other key numbers.

The Federal Aviation Administration said Nov. 16 it is lifting all restrictions on commercial flights that were imposed at 40 major airports during the country's longest government shutdown.
