Volvo’s January North American Truck Deliveries Drop 38%

Volvo AB said Wednesday its North American truck deliveries fell 38% in January from a year ago.

Deliveries of its Volvo and Mack brands in North America fell to 1,917 trucks from 3,049 a year ago, Gothenberg, Sweden-based Volvo said in a statement.

Volvo-brand truck North American deliveries declined 50% to 788 units, while Mack’s fell 23% to 1,129.

A small number of the company’s Renault and UD Trucks brands make up the remainder of the North American tally.



Worldwide truck deliveries for all Volvo brands fell 23% to 10,791 units, led by the North American decline, the company said.

Heavy-duty deliveries, which make up the bulk of the total, fell 19% to 8,830 for the month, while medium-duty deliveries fell 32% to 1,066 units.

Volvo AB is the parent company of Volvo Trucks, Mack Trucks and the Eicher, UD Trucks and Renault Trucks brands.
