Truck and Trailer Leasing Up 10.5% in 2005, ELA Survey Says

ruck and trailer leasing rose 10.5% in 2005, compared with 9.9% the year before, according to a survey released Wednesday by the Equipment Leasing Association.

The 2006 Survey of Industry Activity report also reveals a 3.6% growth rate for rails in 2005, compared with 1.6% the year before, the association said in a statement.

Construction equipment slumped to 7.9% in 2005 from 9.8% in 2004.



In addition, new business volume among equipment leasing companies in 2005 rose 10.3% to $103.7 billion from an annual volume of $94 billion in 2004, according to the report.

The association also said its MLI-25(1), an index of 25 commercial equipment leasing and finance companies surveyed monthly, indicates that the 2005 growth trend has continued through the first six months of 2006.
