TransCore’s GlobalWave Receives Certification
Trucking technology firm TransCore said it has received certification for its GlobalWave tracking devices from Underwriters Laboratories.
UL’s designation of GlobalWave as an “intrinsically safe apparatus” means the company can further expand the market for its tracking systems to transporters of flammable gases and petrochemicals, including gasoline and ethanol, company officials said.
Government data show an estimated 300 million hazardous material shipments annually, accounting for about 7% of truck traffic on U.S. highways, TransCore said.
