TNT Express NV, Europe’s second largest post company, said its second-quarter earnings declined to about $5.7 million, from about $37 million a year earlier.

Revenue rose 0.9% year-over-year to about $2.6 billion, said TNT, which reports its earnings in euros.

TNT's former parent company, TNT NV, split into TNT Express and PostNL NV on June 1, Associated Press reported.

TNT's Monday earnings report was its first as an independent company, AP said.
