Trailer tracking provider Spireon Inc. has introduced its first telematics product for refrigerated trailers.

The company said its FleetLocate Temperature Monitoring system is designed for fleets that require extra precautions to safeguard perishable goods in transit.

The product enables customers to comply with specifications outlined in the federal Food Safety Modernization Act, which includes new rules covering food transportation and distrion.

The system can produce the required temperature-history documentation and reporting in the event of an audit, with electronic, cloud-based records accessible at all times, Spireon said.

Additionally, the FleetLocate Temperature Monitoring solution can pinpoint the location of any refrigerated trailer when it is unhitched from power or detained.
