SMC3 Okays 4.73% Rate Hike, Trimming Earlier Proposal
ate bureau SMC3 on March 17 approved a 4.73% increase in general tariff rates for its 124 less-than-truckload carrier members to take effect May 2.
The final rate is below the one indicated in a preliminary recommendation.Information SMC3 collected as part of its rate-making review did not support the 5.5% increase it had recommended at its March 1 meeting, said the bureau’s president, Jack Middleton.
