The Senate Commerce Committee will hold a hearing next week to consider the nomination of Anthony Foxx to become the next Transportation Secretary.

The hearing, to be heldÌýnext Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., was announced by Sen.ay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.), who chairs the committee.

Late last month, President Obama nominated Foxx, who is the mayor of Charlotte, N.C., to succeed Ray LaHood at DOT.
