The economy expanded at a 3.8% annual rate in the second quarter, more than the first quarter but less than a previous second-quarter estimate, the Commerce Department said Thursday.

A previous report issued in late August put second-quarter GDP growth at 4%.

The 3.8% level matched economists’ forecasts, Bloomberg reported.
