Saia Inc. opened its newest terminal in York, Pa., to enhance its network in the Northeast, the company announced April 20.

The facility commenced operations during the same day as the announcement. Saia said the opening reflects its commitment to expand its nationwide network to meet customer demand and bolster service quality. That includes efforts to improve shipment volumes, transit times and service reliability in the region by featuring 74 doors.

“Expanding our network in key markets like York allows us to better serve our customers,” said Patrick Sugar, executive vice president of operations. “This new facility strengthens our Northeast coverage and positions us to support continued growth across the region.”

Saia said the facility bolsters connectivity among major metropolitan areas in the mid-Atlantic and Northeast and that the added capacity will make freight transport more efficient.

Saia ranks No. 17 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America.
