Roadrunner Transportation Systems said it has purchased Capital Transportation Logistics, a transportation management provider, for $6.25 million.

CTL, based in Nashua, N.H., offers transportation management primarily on less-than-truckload freight, plus truckload brokerage and freight bill audit and payment services.

CTL uses a Web-based system that allows clients to optimize carrier selection, track shipments, generate invoices, create custom reports and perform improvement analysis. The company generated $6 million in revenue in 2011, Roadrunner said.

Roadrunner said it expects the acquisition to be accretive to its earnings in 2012.
