Pittsburgh Logistics Systems said Monday that its freight division has begun to offer truckload van service for general commodities, in addition to its flatbed service.

The freight unit “has experienced tremendous growth in its first year of operation,” said PLS President Robert Dunn. “Expanding our services into the truckload van sector will enable us to better serve our existing customers as well as tap into new markets.”

PLS’ Web site describes the company as a third-party logistics provider to the metals, lumber, and building products industries.
