p>PeopleNet, in a bid to push further into the trailer-tracking market, is touting integration with Par Logistics Management Systems as the new “core” of the Minnetonka, Minn., company’s trailer-management product.

“This partnership and integration will be the core of the PeopleNet Trailer Management product portfolio,” the mobile communications vendor said in a statement.

Par Logistics’ portfolio includes tracking systems for both refrigerated and dry van trailers. PeopleNet will offer both products through integrations with its onboard mobile communications system and its back-office software.

Other players in the trailer-tracking space include SkyBitz, TransCore, and Asset Intelligence, which was formerly General Electric’s trailer-tracking business and is now part of I.D. Systems.
