After two decades leading , Lisa Mullings will step down as president and CEO at the end of 2024, the association announced Dec. 17.

Mullings, who has been at the helm of the truck stop and travel center trade group since 2004, described the decision as difficult but said she is confident in Natso鈥檚 future.

鈥淚t has been an incredible privilege to serve the travel center and truck stop industry,鈥 Mullings said. 鈥淥ver the years, I鈥檝e had the honor of working alongside an extraordinary team, tackling challenges, celebrating successes and championing an industry that plays such a vital role in our transportation system and the nation鈥檚 economy.鈥

During Mullings鈥 tenure, Natso has been a prominent voice on for truck stops and travel centers on Capitol Hill and within federal regulatory agencies. The organization said it remains focused on addressing near- and long-term priorities for its members as the industry adapts to new legislative and regulatory challenges.

Natso Chairman Joe Zietlow praised Mullings鈥 leadership, calling her tenure a reflection of her commitment to the industry.

鈥淒uring my 11 months as Natso鈥檚 chairman, I have personally witnessed Lisa鈥檚 unwavering commitment to this industry, its members and Natso鈥檚 dedicated staff,鈥 Zietlow said. 鈥淪he has predicated her career on serving generations of truck stops and travel centers, including many of the industry鈥檚 founding families and members.鈥

Before becoming president and CEO, Mullings served as Natso鈥檚 vice president of public affairs and counsel.

The association said it will appoint an interim CEO to oversee the leadership transition.

Founded in 1960, Natso represents truck stops and travel centers nationwide, focusing on advocacy, education and business development.
