FMCSA Says Transport Groups Prefer Incentives Over Penalties

| Staff Reporterhe Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration said that people with interests in commercial transportation would prefer safe-operations incentives that emphasized rewards over those with punishments.
The federal truck-safety agency made its observations in a report summarizing six “listening sessions” FMCSA held as part of its Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010 initiative.The report reviewed the meetings, which were part of FMCSA’s effort to “reduce the large-truck-related fatality rate by 41% by the end of 2008."
