鈥淢eeting attendees will hear from representatives of the NAS panel about their research methodology and the six recommendations they provided to FMCSA,鈥 the Aug. 22 announcement said. 鈥淧resentation of each recommendation, will be followed by an input session. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions of the panel members and FMCSA representatives, and provide feedback intended to help shape FMCSA鈥檚 action plan.鈥

The meeting will be from 1-4 p.m. at the FMCSA National Training Center, 1310 N. Courthouse Road, Suite 600, in Arlington, Va.

The June 27 NAS report, titled 鈥淚mproving Motor Carrier Safety Measurement, was a mandate contained in the Fixing America鈥檚 Surface Transportation Act, or FAST.

The FAST Act also requires that the agency develop an action plan to address any identified deficiencies and submit it to Congress and the Department of Transportation鈥檚 Office of the Inspector General.
