Although no specific threat was mentioned, the FBI listed warning signs on its Web site late Thursday to indicate there could be plans by terrorists to detonate a truck bomb in the United States, the Associated Press reported.

The warning urged people to watch for specific signs that may indicate plans for detonation of a truck bomb. Some of them are:

Theft of chemicals or explosives.

LI>Rental of storage space for chemicals.

LI>Theft of a van or truck capable of carrying more than one ton.

LI>Reports of hospital patients suffering losses of fingers or hands.

LI>Surveillance of potential targets.

This warning was also sent to thousands of companies, an FBI spokeswoman said.
