Trucking companies in New Jersey are likely to face delays receiving overweight-vehicle permits, beginning Monday, the state’s trucking association said.

New Jersey is in the process of implementing an electronic permitting system, and permits could take up to three days to be issued until the system is fully functioning — in 12 to 18 months, according to the New Jersey Motor Truck Association.
