CSX Transportation and the District of Columbia filed a motion in federal court last week saying they plan to end their litigation over an attempt by the city to ban hazardous materials shipments.

CSX, Jacksonville, Fla., sued the city in 2005 over a proposed ban on hazmat shipments, but the U.S. Department of Transportation ruled the city was not allowed to enact such a ban.
