Coca-Cola Buys 120 Eaton Hybrid Trucks
Component manufacturer Eaton Corp. said that Coca-Cola Enterprises has purchased 120 new trucks for 2008 delivery, powered by Eaton’s hybrid elecic drivetrain system, Bloomberg reported.
Eaton, Kalamazoo, Mich., said it was the largest order ever for its hybrid truck system. Coca-Cola bought 20 trucks with Eaton hybrid power in 2007, Bloomberg said.
Eaton said Coca-Cola found that those trucks decreased emissions and fuel consumption, while also lowering maintenance costs, the two said.
