The American Transportation Research Institute in a new report has identified the worst traffic bottlenecks affecting truckers around the country.

Trucks travel an average of 29 mph through a highway interchange in Chicago, making it the worst freight chokepoint in the country, ATRI said.

That chokepoint��—��Interstate 290 at its junction with I-90 and I-94 —��was one of 250 highway locations the group identified in its report, using global positioning system data from trucks.

“This type of information is useful to private and public sector freight stakeholders that wish to better understand the severity of congestion and mobility constraints experienced along the highway transportation system,” the group said.
