ATA Hires Dan Horvath as New Safety Policy Director
American Trucking Associations has hired Dan Horvath to serve as its new director of safety policy, according to an April 4 announcement.
Horvath previously served as director of compliance and safety at TransForce, a company that provides safety compliance counseling and workforce solutions for the commercial trucking industry. He graduated in 2017 from ATA鈥檚 LEAD program, which offers a one-year course highlighting various aspects of the industry.
鈥淚鈥檝e spent my professional career working in commercial vehicle and highway safety, so I鈥檓 excited to bring that experience to ATA to help this industry and our members improve upon trucking鈥檚 already impressive safety record,鈥 Horvath said in an ATA press release. 鈥淎TA has always been a strong voice for safety, and I鈥檓 delighted that I now get to be a part of that.鈥
Besides his work at TransForce, Horvath served as an auditor for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and an operations and safety officer at Mlaker Transportation, a Pennsylvania-based motor coach company.
Horvath earned his bachelor鈥檚 degree from University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown.
鈥淎TA is a safety-first organization and having Dan on board will allow us to maintain our position as the leading voice advocating for the safety of the trucking industry,鈥 ATA President Chris Spear said. 鈥淒an has a wealth of experience with highway safety issues, and we are happy that he is part of the ATA team.鈥
