ATA Conference to Feature Judd, Palmer, Gingrich

What do Newt Gingrich, Mike McCurry, Arnold Palmer and Wynonna Judd have in common?

They will all be appearing at the American Trucking Associations Management Conference & Exhibition from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3 in Orlando, Fla.

鈥淎s trucking positions itself to enter the new millennium, we鈥檝e taken special care to ensure this year鈥檚 MC&E gives members the best possible tools to ensure their continued growth and success,鈥 said Julie T. Prazmark, senior vice president for membership.

More than 4,000 trucking executives are expected to gather at the conference, which will include a debate between Gingrich, the former House speaker, and McCurry, the former White House press secretary. The debate will take place Nov. 3 during ATA鈥檚 general membership meeting.



Palmer will share his experiences as a professional golfer and businessman on Nov. 2 at the general membership breakfast, and Judd will perform that evening at ATA鈥檚 annual banquet. Harley-Davidson Chief Executive Officer Richard Teerlink will be the speaker at the Nov. 1 general luncheon, and NBC chief medical correspondent Bob Arnot will address the spouse鈥檚 annual business meeting on Nov. 2.

ATA President Walter B. McCormick Jr. will open the meeting with a Nov. 1 speech titled 鈥淭he Future Is Now,鈥 discussing the challenges facing the industry as it enters the 21st century. ATA鈥檚 policy committees and board of directors will also meet before and during the conference.
