Smart trailer technology is evolving to cater to a trucking fleet’s needs and can dramatically improve all aspects of its operations, a panel said during Hendrickson's media day event.

Kodiak AI and ZF's relationship extends to the autonomous truck developer's earliest days, when Kodiak’s founders approached ZF to co-develop a steering system.

The Stockholm-based autonomous driving startup will combine with special purpose acquisition company Legato Merger and is set to raise $319 million in the process, the company said Nov. 12.

Eventually the goal is to use Nvidia’s more advanced DRIVE AV platform, which includes a sensor suite of cameras, radar and lidar, to develop Level 4 autonomous vehicle capabilities.
