XRS Corp. said Monday it has appointed Brendan Reidy its president and��chief operating officer, effective immediately.

Reidy, previously chairman and CEO of software company Clarus Systems, will report to XRS Chairman and CEO Jay Coughlan.

XRS, Eden Prairie, Minn., which makes transportation technology software, did not previously have a president.

“Brendan joins us with a deep background as a leader of technology companies and ventures,” Coughlan said in a statement, adding that Reidy’s duties will include overseeing development, product management, information systems, supply chain and human resources.

Reidy also previously held executive positions at Qwest Communications/US West, Litton Integrated Automation and Software Alliance Corp., XRS said.
