Schneider Extends Intermodal Contract with CSX
Schneider National said听Tuesday it signed a new, multiyear agreement with CSX Transportation under which the railroad will serve as one of Schneider鈥檚 primary rail providers.
The agreement sets the stage for CSX providing sustained, long-term service within the Eastern United States as Schneider鈥檚 intermodal freight volume continue to increase.
CSX became Schneider鈥檚 primary Eastern rail provider in 2008, and since then the two have continued to enhance their performance to deliver 鈥渢ruck-like鈥 service to shippers.
The deal provides Schneider鈥檚 customers with capacity and access to preferential loading in some circumstances to increase accessibility and efficiency of rail moves.
鈥淭he expansion of our relationship with CSX will create a strong foundation for Schneider Intermodal鈥檚 continued growth,鈥 said Bill Matheson, Schneider鈥檚 president of intermodal services.
Schneider National, Green Bay, Wis., is ranked No. 6 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
