Connecticut Invests $1 Million in Freight Software Firm

The state-backed Connecticut Innovations venture fund is investing up to $1 million in 3Gtms, a Shelton, Conn., company with software applications to help freight carriers and brokers manage their transportation networks.

In 2015 and 2016, 3Gtms reported receiving a combined $9 million in funding from outside investors, in filings with the Securities & Exchange Commission. The company was founded in 2013 by CEO Mitch Weseley.

In addition to its Shelton headquarters, 3Gtms has offices in King of Prussia, Pa. and Raleigh, N.C.
