Agility Fuel Systems Opens Plant in North Carolina

Agility Fuel Systems, a supplier of natural-gas fueling systems for heavy-duty trucks, has opened a new manufacturing plant in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Agility said it will move its manufacturing base from Kelowna, Canada, to the new 204,000-square-foot facility during the next six months. Kelowna will remain as Agility鈥檚 technical engineering center. The company鈥檚 headquarters are in Santa Ana, California.

鈥淎gility鈥檚 investment in this facility demonstrates our deep commitment to the development and adoption of natural gas as a transportation fuel in the heavy-duty vehicle industry,鈥 William Nowicke, the company鈥檚 chief operating officer and interim CEO, said in an Oct. 21 statement.

鈥淔rom the raw aluminum and steel for the frames and covers to the resin and carbon fiber for the cylinders, to installation onto the truck, Agility will now have complete control in one location over the quality, cost and delivery of our natural-gas fuel systems to our customers,鈥 he added.

Agility is the sole provider of natural-gas fuel systems for Freightliner Trucks under the terms of a seven-year agreement announced in June.

The supplier鈥檚 new facility is near Freightliner鈥檚 manufacturing plant in Cleveland, North Carolina.
